Awards Finder

Find the right awards before the deadlines pass.

Award submissions are a high-value, low-effort PR tactic — when you know which awards to target. The problem is that finding relevant awards, tracking deadlines, understanding eligibility criteria, and building a submission strategy takes hours of research per client. PR Desk automates the entire discovery process, surfacing scored and ranked award opportunities with full submission details and strategic recommendations.

The problem

Every year, PR teams scramble to find relevant awards for their clients — usually by maintaining a master spreadsheet that someone started three years ago and nobody has fully updated since. Deadlines get missed. Niche industry awards that would be perfect fits go undiscovered because nobody thought to search for them. And the research itself is tedious: visiting dozens of award websites, reading eligibility criteria, figuring out submission requirements, and assessing whether a client has a realistic shot at winning.

The solution

PR Desk's Awards Finder replaces hours of manual research with a single query. Enter your client's details — name, industry, spokesperson, topics they're strong on — and the system generates a ranked list of relevant awards. Each award is scored on prestige (how recognizable it is), relevance (how well it fits your client), and probability (how realistic a win is). You also get submission deadlines, required materials, suggested angles, and strategic value beyond the trophy itself.

Capabilities

Scored and ranked results

Each award is scored 1-10 on three dimensions: prestige (visibility and industry recognition), relevance (alignment with your client's story and credentials), and probability (realistic chance of winning given the competitive landscape). These scores are summed into a total that helps you prioritize. A high-prestige, low-probability award might still be worth submitting to for the association — but you'll know what you're getting into.

Comprehensive submission details

For each award, PR Desk provides the submission deadline, eligibility criteria, typical winner profile, required materials (narrative, metrics, proof points, video, etc.), and the best route to win (direct application, editorial relationship, nomination). You also get a suggested submission angle tailored to your client's specific strengths and a strategic value assessment explaining why winning this particular award matters for their positioning.

Flexible deadline filtering

Search for awards with submission deadlines in the next 30, 60, 90, 180 days, or up to a year out. You can also anchor the search to a specific start date — useful for planning Q1 submissions in Q4, or identifying summer awards while building your annual plan. This prevents the classic PR problem of discovering a perfect award two weeks after the deadline passed.

Build on existing tracking

If you already maintain an awards list (in Excel or CSV), upload it before generating. PR Desk will identify awards you're already tracking and only surface new opportunities you haven't considered. This is especially valuable if you've been submitting to the same 10 awards for three years — the system finds the next 15 you should be targeting.

How it works

1

Enter the client name, industry/vertical, and the topics or credentials they're strongest on.

2

Optionally add spokesperson details — name and title — for awards that recognize individual leaders.

3

Set a deadline timeframe (next 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, 6 months, or 1 year) and a target number of awards to find.

4

Upload an existing awards list if you want the system to find additional opportunities beyond what you're already tracking.

5

PR Desk generates a ranked, scored list with full details for each award — including submission requirements, suggested angles, and strategic value.

6

Review the results, expand any row for full details, and export to Excel for team coordination and deadline tracking.

Use cases

Annual awards planning — run a comprehensive scan for each client at the start of the year and build a 12-month awards calendar.

Niche vertical awards — find industry-specific awards (healthcare innovation, fintech excellence, defense tech) that generalist PR teams often miss.

Executive recognition — identify "40 Under 40," "Women in Leadership," and similar individual awards for client spokespeople.

Justifying PR value — award wins are tangible proof of PR impact. A systematic awards program shows clients that you're proactive, not just reactive.

Delegating with confidence — junior staff can run the awards search and present options to the account lead, backed by scoring and strategic rationale.
